Apple has patented a waterproof glass iPhone

A patent describes an iPhone with a curved screen and a glass case, these features being rumored for the iPhone 8.

The Apple company was recently granted a patent for an iPhone that has a case made entirely of glass and that is waterproof. We are talking about a device that has a front panel and case made entirely of glass and that will not be affected by prolonged contact with liquids, as will happen with iPhone 7.

The iPhone terminal in this patent has a curved screen towards the outer edges, just like the Galaxy S7 Edge, the patent being filed for registration in April 2017. In it, Apple describes how it would create the device using whole pieces of glass, or small pieces glued together between them and hermetically sealed so that water does not penetrate inside.

Moreover, those from Apple say that they could also make the case partially transparent to allow users to see inside, this can now be done by changing it completely. Of course, Apple will try to offer an element of novelty and uniqueness through a case of this kind, but only if it decides to use it.

Apple is preparing an iPhone made of glass with a curved screen

Until now, there have been a variety of rumors suggesting that the iPhone 8 will have a glass case and curved screen, and this patent seems to confirm Apple's plans. Of course, it's a long way from the patent to the product, but even so, the people from Apple are at least testing an iPhone that has a curved screen and a glass case.

"A handheld computing device that includes an enclosure having structural walls formed from a glass material that can be radio-transparent. The enclosure can be formed from a hollow glass tube or two glass members bonded together. A laser frit bonding process may be used to hermetically seal the two glass members together to create a water resistant electronic device."

Apple makes a lot of patents and registers a variety of technologies, but generally few of them end up being implemented in products or launched on the market.
