Headphone manufacturers are not afraid of the iPhone 7

Headphone manufacturers are not afraid of the iPhone 7, which comes without an audio port implemented by Apple.

Launching a iPhone 7 without audio port, Apple could take the "bread from the mouth" of some manufacturers of headphones for smartphones and tablets, they being forced to rethink their businesses. Headphones with a 3.5mm connector are undoubtedly the best-selling headphone models, but Apple wants to change the world order with iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

By launching the terminals without an audio port, those from Apple force users to use the new EarPods headphones with Lightning connector, to buy AirPods, to buy other wireless headphones, or to use the adapter in the package. The last solution is not really that understood and some users could give up the classic headphones completely, but this does not scare the manufacturers.

Asking a series of headphone manufacturers how they see the future with an iPhone without an audio port, an American publication found out that they are not afraid of what this future has in store for them. Even if in reality no one knows what these people think, they publicly declared that the world is evolving, and removing the audio port from the iPhone will not affect them radically.

Here are the most important reactions of the major manufacturers of headphones for computers and mobile terminals. What do you think, will the iPhone 7 cause a revolution in the way we listen to music?

"Sennheiser has seen many different connection standards come and go in the audio world over the years. Audio connections have always been continuously evolving. Digital outputs, such as Apple's Lightning connector, will offer new opportunities to take a step forward and to further enhance the sound experience for the customer. For example, 3D audio technology using digital signals is just one possibility." – Sennheiser

"Apple has confirmed what we've all known all along: the world is going wireless. And even though you might not know it now, you'll love your digital audio experience without all the wires. Apple's new design, coupled with advancements in wireless headphones and Bluetooth technology, will dramatically improve the audio experience for all and lead to a freer listening & interaction experience." – Jaybird

"The fact that Apple is providing the adapter with the new iPhone 7 means that, although people have something else now to lose, no one will miss out and can still enjoy their own choice of quality wired headphones. We will continue to offer some of our headphone range with Bluetooth options such as the new SR5BT with a 38 hour battery life (and a cable in the box)." – Audio-Technica

"To be honest, we don't care much one way or another. We really just care that we can keep a sound that we're proud of. We just want whatever connection is used to keep the sound that our family's worked for 63 years. There aren't any major changes to Grado because of this, and we'll continue doing what's kept us around for so long." - Grado
