iOS 10 was installed on 14.5% of iDevices

iOS 10 was installed on 14.5% of all active iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches worldwide, the adoption rate being surprisingly high.

iOS 10 has already been installed on 14.5% of all iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches worldwide, having a much better start than iOS 9, despite iOS 10 issues. According to MixPanel, by 20:00, that is, 24 hours after the release of iOS 10, 14.45% of all active iDevices were running this version of iOS.

Last year, after 24 hours, 12.6% of active iDevices were running iOS 9, and if we look at iOS 8 from 2 years ago, iOS 10 has a better adoption rate even than that version. It is extremely important to note that the base of active terminals we are talking about is much larger in the case of iOS 10 than in the case of previous versions, so in reality the number of those who have installed the update is much larger.

Considering that it is impossible to calculate how much the user base of iDevices has grown, without information from Apple, we do not know the real comparative figure, but it is without a doubt that it is higher. Why? Well, because Apple has sold more and more iDevices from year to year and it is impossible for the old ones to have been taken out of use at the same rate as the new ones, since the base of active users has grown constantly.

iOS 10 runs on 14.5% of active iDevices.

ios 10 adoption rateYou can see in the image above a comparison between the current adoption rates for iOS 10, iOS 9 and iOS 8, the latest version of the operating system having a good start. Apple boasted a good adoption rate for iOS 9 last year and will most likely do the same this year with iOS 10.

Apple has over 1 billion active iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches worldwide, and over 800 million of them can install iOS 10 at the moment. With such a large user base, there is little chance that by the end of the year the adoption rate of iOS 10 will not even cover 3-400 million users.
