Yes, you read that right, this is the experience of a person who used the 3.5mm adapter for the iPhone 7, the man stating that reconnecting the Apple accessory restores its functionality. If he is right, then we are probably talking about a bug and not a functionality that the Apple company thought in this way of use.
It would be stupid for this connector to have to be reconnected every time 5 minutes pass since I last listened to music, as it becomes practically useless. Castles do not close automatically after 5 minutes of silence and this adder shouldn't react in this way either, or at least that's how things should be, if everything were normal.
Have you encountered this problem with the standard 3.5mm adapter?
PSA: Lightning headphone adapter shuts off after 5 minutes of inactivity if screen is off. Pause/volume don't work until replugging. @atpfm
