A new Galaxy S7 Edge caught fire, now in the Philippines

A new Galaxy Edge S7 caught fire the other day, but this time in the Philippines, a country where no incidents of this kind had been reported before. In the images below, you can see the terminal of a local resident, who avoids providing information on the nature of the problem, but confirms that Samsung returned the money paid for the device.

As you can see from the images, the terminal seems to have caught fire in the battery area, swelling and detaching the screen casing, as normally happens in situations of this kind. The device burned for quite a while before it was extinguished, and of course it could no longer be used by the owner before returning it to Samsung.

Those from Samsung have had similar problems in the past with the Galaxy S7 Edge, being even sued by a man whose terminal left him with permanent injuries. As Samsung has not provided any details about the incident and probably will not, but the problems are starting to multiply for the Koreans.

It is hard to say what kind of battery is used in this model of the Galaxy S7 Edge, but it is possible that it was also manufactured by Samsung SDI.

"We went to the Samsung store at SM City Taytay and they refunded my money in full. Kudos to all the staff of Samsung SM Taytay for their immediate action regarding my issue. In spite of the unfortunate incident, I am however, impressed by their after-sales support. Much respect to Samsung. Keep safe everyone."
