Apple will reduce iPhone 7 component orders

Apple will reduce orders of components for iPhone 20 and iPhone 7 Plus by up to 7% in the first part of 2017.

Just a week after the official launch of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, Asian analysts are already making estimates regarding the reductions in component orders for the terminal. Those in Asia estimate that in the first quarter of 2017, Apple will reduce by up to 20% the component orders for its two new smartphones.

The information comes at a time when Apple does not have enough iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus terminals in stock, but it is still quite close to the truth. If we look at what Apple has done in the past years, we notice that in the first part of a new year, those from Cupertino have substantially reduced the orders of components for the new terminals.

According to today's estimate, Apple would have asked its partners to manufacture enough components to produce 50 million iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in Q3 2016 and another 45 million in Q4 2016. We are talking about 90 million units of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus produced only this year, a figure higher than that for iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.

Apple will reduce iPhone 7 component orders

In general, the Apple company reduces orders of components for new iPhone models at the beginning of a year, and this is because sales decrease during that period. Not only Apple is affected by a decrease in sales in the first part of a year, but all stores, so we are not talking about something that affects exclusively the American company.

"Chip orders placed for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will most likely decline by about 20% sequentially in the first fiscal quarter of 2017. Apple has asked partners to deliver integrated chips to produce 50 of millions of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in Q3 2016 and another 45 million units in Q4 2016."

The current estimates are not at all unusual compared to what we already know from the Apple company, so we should not think that things will be different compared to other years. iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will probably generate record sales by the end of the year, if Apple will have enough stocks, and in 2017 they will return to normal values, perhaps higher than last year's.
