iPhone 7 and the new fingerprint reader

The new Touch ID in iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus reads fingerprints with greater accuracy and generates much fewer errors when unlocking.

Although the Apple company did not specify this in the conference for the presentation iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the two new smartphones have an improved Touch ID in the Home button. We are talking about a fingerprint reader that offers a much better experience in daily use, or at least this has been my experience so far.

The new Touch ID in iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is not faster than the one in iPhone 6S, or at least this is not easily noticeable when unlocking the terminals normally. Despite this, the new Touch ID implemented in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is more accurate in reading our fingerprints, so it has fewer errors when unlocking compared to the iPhone 6S.

We are talking here about a decrease in the time required for the initial scan of a fingerprint during the Touch ID setting process, but also about unlocking without as many problems. In iOS 9 and iOS 10 beta I had a lot of problems with Touch ID on the iPhone 6S Plus, but on the iPhone 7 Plus everything is extremely fast and accurate, as the procedure should be normally.

iPhone 7 and the new Touch ID - my experience

You will notice the improvements brought to Touch ID right from the moment you set the first fingerprints for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, if you do not have some set. If you use a backup, then you will notice the difference when it comes to unlocking our terminals, the number of wrong readings will decrease accordingly.

Considering that Apple hasn't said anything about Touch ID improvements, we're probably talking about either a more advanced fingerprint reader or software changes. Regardless of the situation, the new hardware works much better than the previous one, and you will notice this immediately after you start using your terminals.
