A Samsung tablet that overheated during an intercontinental flight forced a Delta flight to land before reaching its destination. We are talking about a flight that left Detroit for Amsterdam, but that landed in Manchester after a Samsung tablet overheated and started to emit smoke after being stuck in a seat.
The tablet got stuck inside the folding seat, and due to overheating, it would have generated such a high temperature that the foam of the seat would have started to burn, emitting a strange smoke. At that moment the captain of the plane made the decision to land at the nearest airport, which is the one in Manchester, where the problem was solved.
