Americans are more interested in AirPods than Apple Watch 2

AirPods are more attractive to American consumers than Apple Watch 2, despite the high purchase price set by Apple.

Although this may seem unbelievable, Apple fans in the US are much more interested in the new headphones AirPods than the Apple Watch 2, launched this year by the Apple company. According to a recent study conducted in the USA, 12% of Americans participating in them are interested in buying AirPods when the headphones are launched on the market.

The figure corresponds to several tens of millions of Americans, and the American bank Merrill Lynch claims that Apple could collect 3 billion dollars from the sale of these headphones. The number is very high, but 88% of those participating in the study say that they do not intend to buy AirPods from the Apple company, and rightly so.

The majority think that their current headphones are good enough, 56% of the total, while 40% think that the price asked by Apple for AirPods is too high. However, comparing the purchase intention with that of Apple Watch 2, AirPods generated 4 percent more interest than Apple's new smart watch.

Only 8% of the participants in the study stated that they intend to buy Apple Watch 2, but the difference is somewhat normal, considering that this watch costs at least 2 times more. For now, it seems that AirPods are more interesting than Apple Watch 2, but it remains to be seen how many people will finally decide to buy these headphones.

"Only a small portion of respondents own the Watch Series 1 and only 8% of respondents intend to buy the Watch Series 2."
