iOS 10.1 increases performance when reopening applications

iOS 10.1 brings improvements to the RAM memory management mode, increasing iPhone and iPad performance when reopening applications.

iOS 10.1 seems to come with a major improvement for the way we use the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touches, the Apple company making changes that seriously increase performance. We are talking here about the system for reopening applications in the background, the Apple company seems to have changed the way the RAM memory is managed on our terminals.

If in previous versions of iOS 10 some applications were not suspended in RAM when they were closed in the background and reloaded their information when reopened, in iOS 10.1 things are different. It seems that Apple has changed the way RAM memory is managed in such a way that more applications are now loaded in RAM when they are in the background.

If they are loaded in RAM, the applications will reopen even faster when we select them and they will have all the information ready displayed, without us having to reload them. This is the great benefit that systems of this kind have for smartphones or tablets, and those from Apple have seriously improved it in iOS 10.1 to increase the overall performance.

Practically, on an iPhone with 2 GB of RAM, we will be able to keep many applications open in the background, depending on what they do in iOS, and upon reopening they will load immediately. In the case of the iPhone 7 Plus, Apple seems to have made that additional GB of RAM available compared to the iPhone 7, something that many did not expect to see offered by Apple yet.

I noticed this change for the RAM memory management mode on both iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone 7 Plus, the major benefits being for the latter. However, I told you that even old terminals benefit from improvements thanks to this change, their performance increasing depending on the available RAM and the applications used.

We already know that iOS 10.1 is faster than the previous versions of the operating system, so apart from this change, those from Apple probably made others.
