WhatsApp allows you to personalize pictures and videos

WhatsApp steals from Snapchat and will allow us to write or apply emoji characters over pictures or videos before sharing.

WhatsApp has new features for photos and videos starting today, the most popular text messaging app being updated with a series of interesting changes. Those from WhatsApp announced everything through a post made on their own blog, basically confirming the fact that they have taken over some of the functions offered by Snapchat for some time.

As you can see in the image below, we can now write or apply emoji over any kind of pictures or videos recorded using our iDevices. The new functions are available directly in the video or photo sharing interface, so that all users can enjoy them in a very easy-to-use format.

The new options for editing pictures and video clips will be displayed automatically when we record a picture or a clip, or when we open the photo/video library. Facebook has been trying to copy Snapchat for several years, and now it does it in all its applications, Instagram remaining the last platform where functions of this kind are not offered.

According to those from WhatsApp, the new functions will be implemented in a new version of the Android application, which will be launched these days. The iPhone version of WhatsApp that will include this update will be available in the future, probably in a week or two, so we still have to wait.
