iPhone 7 vs Leica M9-P – camera comparison

iPhone 7 with its 12 megapixel camera is compared by a Japanese with a DSLR camera Leica M9-P worth 9000 dollars to show us which one takes better pictures. Of course, the DSLR wins, but the difference between the quality of the pictures recorded by these two devices is not as big as the difference in the purchase price.

The pictures are made especially to highlight the ability of the iPhone 7 or the Leica M9-P to record the fine details in front of the device, the final result being quite interesting. The photographer who took these pictures claims that the iPhone 7 has the best camera with a 1/3" sensor at the moment, and considering that we are talking about a professional photographer, we have to believe him.

Those from DxOMark do not agree with him and claim that the Google Pixel has a better camera, although a test presented yesterday shows us that things are not quite like that. Regardless of the situation, a much better comparison would have been with the iPhone 7 Plus, which has a dual camera and is much more suitable for a test of this kind.

In all the pictures below, those of the iPhone 7 are on the left, and those of the Leica M9-P are on the right. The last 2 pictures are recorded in RAW format, the first being of the iPhone 7, and the second of the Leica device.
