Watch Facebook videos on TV

Facebook allows us to stream video clips from mobile terminals or computers directly to televisions.

This evening the company Facebook updated the application for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, and although it did not mention this in its changelog, it brings a new function. More precisely, iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users will have the opportunity to see on their own televisions the video clips that are normally displayed within the Facebook network.

The new function offered by Facebook allows users to play video clips from the network on their televisions while watching the news feed on their phones. Everything works through the AirPlay system, so you will need to have an Apple TV through which you can view the content from your iPhone on your televisions.

From now on, the videos in the Facebook application will have a special icon of a TV that will be displayed to allow us to see the video on a TV. This icon will allow you to play via Apple TV or Google Chromecast, everything is very simple and easy, while the News Feed with all the updates of our friends remains active on the terminals.

Facebook is coming to TVs

Those from Facebook claim that the new function is available both in the mobile application and in the desktop version, and in both cases, the news feed remains active for us. Of course, the function is only available if you have a connection between your mobile terminal or computer with a device capable of playing the content on the TV via Wi-Fi.

This system works both for video clips already uploaded by users, as well as for Facebook Live sessions that any user can do.

"To give you even more ways to watch, we're excited to roll out the ability to stream videos from Facebook to your TV — through devices like Apple TV or Google Chromecast — so you have the option to enjoy your favorite videos on a bigger screen. You can already stream Facebook videos to Apple TV (and other AirPlay-enabled devices) or Chromecast (and other Google Cast–enabled devices) from an iOS device or your web browser, and soon you'll be able to cast from Android devices to Chromecast as well.”

If you have already updated the Facebook application on iPhone and iPad, then you can enjoy this new function.
