We are talking about two models that have prices of 1299 dollars and 1999 dollars, they do not have TouchBar, Touch ID and the other internal or design novelties that Apple has implemented in the new laptops.
MacBook Pro 2015 still has the old ports offered by Apple, i.e. MagSafe, USB-A, HDMI, the 3.5mm headphone port, or the SD card reader. MacBook Pro 2016 come without such ports, Apple implementing 4 Thunderbolt ports, one 3.5mm port and one USB-C, so the world will need a lot of adapters to use them.
To give customers the option to choose a model that has the ports they need, Apple still sells the old MacBook Pro models. In this idea, everyone who has and wants a MacBook Pro can buy one for the price of only 1300 dollars, but of course they will have old technologies and not the new ones offered starting today.
At the moment MacBook Pro is sold by Apple in models with 13-inch and 15-inch screens at prices starting from 1300 dollars and reaching up to 2300 dollars. How long will this situation last? It is very difficult to say, especially since Apple can remove any model from its public offer at any time.
