The iPhone 8 will have an OLED screen developed by Sharp

iPhone 8 will have an OLED screen manufactured by Sharp, but only one of the models could be launched with this component.

The Apple company is preparing to launch iPhone 8 during the next year, and a few days ago we told you that three models would reach the global markets soon. An Asian publication claims that Apple would like to release the iPhone 8 in versions that have 4.7 inch, 5 inch and 5.5 inch screens, which is currently hard to believe by many.

The same Asian publication comes today with other clarifications regarding the iPhone 8, stating that at least the iPhone 8 Plus would come with an OLED screen, depending on Apple's production capacity. Sharp will be the manufacturer of these OLED screens for iPhone 8, and depending on its production capacity, the models that will include them will be chosen.

The information comes from Tai, the president of the Sharp company, he was appointed to this position after Foxconn acquired the Japanese company this year. Tai is close to the president of Foxconn, and until now the presidents of Apple's Asian partner companies have disclosed various confidential information regarding products not yet released.

However, the fact that the iPhone 8 will have an OLED screen is no longer a surprise, but choosing only certain models to take advantage of this technology could be an unexpected choice. The Apple company has been differentiating its various iPhone models for 2 years, and with the iPhone 8 this trend could continue, the most expensive models being able to benefit from the biggest changes.

"The iPhone has evolved constantly in recent years and now it will make the transition from LTPS panels to OLED. We don't know if the new iPhones with OLED panels will be successful, but if Apple doesn't follow this path and transform, there will be no innovation. Apple is in crisis, and this is an opportunity for it. We will produce these OLED panels in a factory in Japan. We can also manufacture them in the US, if Apple asks us to."

Finally, those from Sharp are willing to produce the new OLED screens for iPhone 8 including in the USA, this could be the first time that Apple terminals could have screens produced in this country. Of course, their price will be much higher than that of screens manufactured in Asia, so Apple will probably try to avoid them.

iPhone 8 will be released next year, and apart from the OLED screen, it will have a glass case, Touch ID integrated under the screen, new cameras and many other major changes.
