Apple Music could be cheaper

Apple Music could become cheaper by 2 dollars, or 1/2 euro, starting this year.

In order to attract an even greater number of customers, the Apple company calculates a possible reduction in subscription prices for Apple Music. The information comes from an American publication specialized in audio streaming services and the change would be an extremely good one for all users around the world.

At the moment, the Apple company charges $9.99 for an individual Apple Music subscription, but Americans would consider reducing this price to $7.99 in the US. The discount could be similar in other areas of the world and only 1/2 euro in Europe, but including family subscriptions could be cheaper.

Apple has increasing problems in attracting subscribers to Apple Music, compared to Spotify or Amazon Music, and a price reduction seems to be the only way to success. Apple had announced that it has 17 million Apple Music subscribers and with a price reduction it could seriously reduce the difference compared to the 40 million people who have a Spotify subscription.

The difference between Apple and Spotify in terms of subscriptions is enormous, and the only way for Apple to reduce the difference is to make subscriptions cheaper. Spotify can't afford to do the same, losing money every fiscal quarter for several years now, but the Swedish company has a free service that Apple Music doesn't currently offer.

It is hard to say if Apple will decide to make this change this year, but if it wants to be successful in competing with Spotify, then it doesn't really have alternatives.

"Apple Music may be preparing for a major price drop, according to a pair of sources working closely with the streaming service. If implemented, the drop could be as much as 20%, which would put the final monthly price below $8. The change, if implemented, would allow Apple to minimize any damage from a seriously undercutting Amazon Music.".
