The Galaxy S8 will have a copy of 3D Touch

The Galaxy S8 will have a function similar to the 3D Touch available in the iPhone for more than a year from the Apple company.

"Just" a year and a half after the launch of 3D Touch in the iPhone, the Samsung company will implement it in Galaxy S8 a similar system, able to perceive the pressure applied to the screen. Samsung has been testing for some time a smartphone from the Galaxy series that has such an integrated technology, and the Galaxy S8 would have it included in the end.

According to a partner of the Samsung company, the Korean company intends to only partially implement the technology in the Galaxy S8, and it will be fully offered within 2 years. Considering that at the moment few models of Android terminals have such functionality, Samsung does not have much pressure to offer it.

Moreover, in Android Nougat a system was implemented that simulates to a certain extent the functionality by long presses on the screen, without necessarily applying pressure. Many Android smartphones will take advantage of this new functionality, the Galaxy S8 as well, but it would also have something extra on the pressure sensing side.

Apart from the Galaxy S8, those from Samsung intend to implement these functions including in other premium smartphones that they sell. Here I am of course thinking of the Note series, a new model to be launched next year, despite all the problems that this year's model has generated for the Korean company.

"Samsung is mulling to adopt the force touch technology partially from the S8 but the full adoption will come in one or two years. It is a matter of time before other major Android smartphone makers deploy the technology that will help enhance the user interface.”

Having said that, Samsung is trying to catch up with the iPhone with a function that Apple has been offering for some time, but will only offer it partially in the Galaxy S8, for starters. The truth is that 3D Touch is not considered one of the basic functions of the iPhone, so Samsung has no reason to worry. stir too much.
