Counterfeit chargers generate display errors when charging the iPhone

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S shut down out of the blue due to the use of poor quality third-party chargers for charging.

The other day we told you that the Chinese authorities asked Apple to investigate a very large number of terminals iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S that close out of nowhere. Users in China reported that the terminals were shutting down when they had even 50% of the battery available, either because of the cold or for reasons still unknown.

Those from Apple are investigating the problem, and according to some preliminary information, it seems that counterfeit chargers, or just unauthorized ones, are to blame. It seems that all iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S terminals with this problem were charged using chargers that were not manufactured according to the standards imposed by the Apple company.

Due to the poor manufacturing of these chargers, it seems that the iPhone terminals erroneously display the percentage of energy available in the battery. In this idea, although the iPhone terminals showed a percentage of 50% of the available battery energy, in reality much less energy was in the terminals, and they were shutting down because they ran out of it.

Using these chargers for a long period of time also damages the circuits that make the connection between the charging cable, the logic board and the battery. In this situation, the only solution to restart a closed iPhone is to replace it completely, or just the motherboard with the respective circuits that facilitate charging the battery.

The information is not yet official because Apple is still investigating the problem, but from what it has analyzed so far, it seems that counterfeit chargers are to blame. To be honest, it's quite strange that a counterfeit charger would force iOS to display an erroneous battery percentage, and if Apple will officially support this, it will have to provide clear explanations.

"Sources close to the investigation on Chinese iPhone 6 models failing with what appears to be a charged battery have found that the main cause of the problems appears to be not related to Apple engineering, but is directly related to the proliferation of low-quality third -party charging peripherals in the country."

If the problem is real, then people who have iPhone terminals affected by these problems will not receive help from Apple, but will have to repair their terminals themselves and use original chargers.
