Apple Music is offered free of charge in taxis

The Apple company will offer Apple Music for free in taxis, following a partnership concluded between those from Cupertino and a ride-sharing service from India called Ola. The ride-sharing company has an audio streaming service called Ola Play, and the playback of music from Apple Music is to be done through or for the customers of some of the cars.

Ola is the largest ride-sharing service in India, offering services similar to those of Uber or Lyft, and the partnership with Apple Music will probably generate an increase in orders. Those from Uber concluded a similar agreement with Spotify in 2014, and what Apple has done now is a perfectly normal reaction for a Spotify competitor.

Ola customers will have the opportunity to choose the music they listen to via a tablet installed in the cars they travel with. Moreover, they can also control the air conditioning in the passenger compartment, watch videos made available by Ola, or read digital books in ebook format, so we are talking about a complex service.

This partnership concluded by Apple comes just a few months after the company invested 1 billion dollars in a ride-sharing company in China. Apple seems more and more interested in concluding collaborations with companies of this kind, so it would not be excluded to see other agreements concluded in the US, or other countries on the planet.

"Cars were initially built for the driver. But with ride-sharing, the control needs to be there for the passenger, and Ola Play works along that.”
