The new Nokia smartphones will be relaunched in 2017

Nokia is preparing to launch new smartphone models at the beginning of next year, they will work with the Android operating system.

More than 2 years have passed since Microsoft bought the mobile division of Nokia to develop smartphones on its own. Microsoft has somewhat failed in its attempt to become an important player on the smartphone market, and in the absence of strong products of their own, those from Nokia will relaunch their brand in the smartphone segment.

Microsoft imposed on Nokia not to launch any smartphone on the market for 30 months, and this period expired in September, so Nokia has new products ready. Microsoft sold the rights to the Nokia brand for smartphones in the spring, with a Finnish consortium called HMD buying them.

Now, those from HMD have hired a PR firm to initiate a campaign to promote some Android smartphones that will be launched at the beginning of next year. Details regarding these mobile terminals are not known yet, but it is clear that Nokia is going to sell smartphones with the Android operating system and not its own.

Based on this initiative, Nokia will re-enter the smartphone market with at least one important new product, but with Google's operating system. We will probably see cheap smartphones at first, and as the world gets used to Nokia again, top smartphones will be launched, perhaps competing with the iPhone and Samsung's chlorine products.

"We see this as a brilliant opportunity to solve real life consumer problems and to deliver on the quality and designs that the Nokia brand has always been known for. Our talented and passionate team is uniquely placed in this modern setup to deliver our promise of reliable, beautifully crafted and fun Nokia phones for consumers across the globe."
