Users of the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar complain about the low autonomy of the laptops

The new users of the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar claim that the autonomy offered by the laptop is lower than the one announced by the Apple company.

If you are thinking of buying a new one MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, then you must know that there are some chances that the product you will purchase will have less autonomy than the one promised by Apple. Those from Cupertino claim that the new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar can get up to 10 hours of autonomy on a single charge, under normal use conditions.

More precisely, we are talking here mainly about surfing the Internet and playing movies, without doing complex things, such as photo/video editing, or playing games. Although some of the new users of the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar did not directly start photo/video editing with the new laptops, they claim that the autonomy is still below that announced by the Apple company.

More precisely, users claim that they only get between 3 and 6 hours of autonomy with the new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, the lowest value being obtained by people who had connected a monitor to the laptop. Others have had similar problems even without having a monitor connected, and these complaints are not new, being reported even by those who tested the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar before launch.

Although some users of the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar complain of reduced battery life, others claim that the products offer exactly what the Apple company promises. The very big difference is given by the way the new Mac is used, the brightness of the screen, but also the browser used for surfing the Internet, Google Chrome using more energy than Safari.

"Currently I'm powering a 1080p external monitor and casually browsing with Chrome. At full charge, I'm getting an estimate of 3 hours battery life. With gaming it's even less. I bought a maxed out 13-inch Touch Bar model and I've been using it for about a week. With light use, I've been consistently getting around 5-6.5 hours when mainly browsing. Apple claims 10 hours wireless web but my battery has never lasted this long."

Apple promotes that 10-hour battery autonomy in the case of using the Safari browser for surfing the Internet, it has limited functionality, although it is optimized for Mac. Most people still prefer Google Chrome, Firefox, etc., as they have more functions, but also consume more energy.

Unfortunately, no Apple MacBook will offer the autonomy promised by the company if you use something other than Safari for web browsing, so you have to be aware of that.
