Apple: many iPhone 6S have battery problems, the release of iOS 10.2 will be next week

Apple confirms that the number of iPhone 6S terminals that have battery problems is higher than thought, announces the release of iOS 10.2.

Apple officially recognized today that the number of terminals iPhone 6S that have problems with the battery and shut down out of the blue is much higher than she initially thought. This thing became obvious when various American publications began to report the fact that 80% of the cases reached in the services of Apple stores are related to the iPhone 6S batteries.

Faced with a growing problem, the Apple company today published an announcement on its website in China, in which it admits that the iPhone 6S problems are bigger than it thought. In this idea, those from Cupertino announced that they will release iOS 10.2 next week to more effectively diagnose the problems that their products have.

Apple initially explained that iPhone 6S terminals manufactured between September and October 2015 have batteries that have been exposed to air too much and deteriorate faster than normal. Now, it seems that other units are also affected by the battery problems, but Apple believes that they could correct these problems through a software change and not necessarily by replacing the battery.

Apple says that iOS 10.2, which will be released next week, will contain software that will diagnose iPhone 6S terminals and record the conditions in which they close suddenly. Apple says that sometimes iPhone terminals shut down suddenly to protect internal components, and iOS 10.2 is intended to allow it to modify the algorithms that do this, so that situations like this do not happen unnecessarily.

"Outside the affected batch, a small number of customers reported an unexpected shutdown. Some of these shutdowns may be normal, because the iPhone will shut down to protect its electronic components. To gather more information, we will add an additional diagnostic feature to the iOS software update that is released next week. This feature collects a variety of information in the coming weeks that may help us improve algorithms for managing battery performance and shutdown operations. If such improvements can be achieved, we will deliver them through further software updates."

To cut the story short, Apple recognizes the fact that apart from the millions of iPhone 6S terminals manufactured in September and October 2015, there are others that randomly shut down during use. To better understand the problem and try to solve it, it will release iOS 10.2 next week and will include a special diagnostic software for our terminals.
