Today the Supreme Court of Justice in the USA gave a favorable decision to the Samsung company in a very long lawsuit filed by those from Apple. We are talking about one from the year 2012 that Apple won, Samsung claiming that 399 million dollars of the amount awarded is too high for the violations committed by it.
Today's decision completely overturns what has been decided so far in various lower courts, the case file will go back to a federal court. This means that Samsung will not pay any money to Apple for the time being based on the initial decision, but also that it will be able to defend its case again in the hope that it will be able to escape the payment of damages.
Today's decision is not really that surprising, American journalists are expecting the US Supreme Court to take Samsung's side in this dispute. Although the people from Apple asked for the help of a multitude of experts from the design industry, here is that the US Supreme Court of Justice did not understand what they wanted to say.
All 8 judges who participated in making this decision voted for Samsung's claims, so there can be no doubts about the decision. The amount in question here is a part of 548 million dollars paid in December 2015 to Apple based on a decision given by a US court in 2012.
