UBER is accused by the Americans of following its customers even when they do not order a car to make a race, or when they are during the race. The accusations came after the UBER application was updated last month and changed the location monitoring mode, with the application asking to have access to location data at all times.
Until then, the UBER application requested access to the location and GPS data only during use, which is normal and perfectly understandable, but now it wants access to our location all the time. Those from UBER claim that the change is made for the safety of users, but also to ensure a much better experience for using the application.
Those from UBER say that by monitoring our location before ordering the car and 5 minutes after completing the ride, the application could more easily predict the times of departure and arrival at the destination in the future. UBER claims that, based on this information, it tries to improve the user experience and bring users home safely.

Although UBER says that location monitoring is done only 5 minutes before and after the ride, in reality this can be done constantly, as long as the application is open in the background. Practically, during all this time UBER can collect data regarding our location, without us knowing, at the same time consuming a lot of energy from the battery.
How does UBER know how many minutes before it starts monitoring our location? Looking at the times when we generally ordered a car, or monitoring our location and the application all the time, constantly taking data, data that is then used by it for whatever purposes it deems necessary.
The problem for many is that UBER must be taken for granted that it monitors the location only occasionally and only to improve our experience of using the application. Of course, trust in any company of this kind should not be placed without some proof that it keeps its word, and so far there are no reasons to believe that it does.
