Apple collected $600 million from the US government

Apple has collected 600 million dollars from the US government since 2012 and until now for the money it actually has outside the country. More precisely, the Apple company bought a series of bonds from the US government for which it receives interest, the US Treasury paying no less than 600 million dollars as interest to Apple in the last 5 years.

According to some information provided by American analysts, the Apple company bought bonds issued by the American state in the last almost 5 years. For them, the US government paid interest of at least 600 million dollars for the bonds bought by Apple, the amount being a colossal one for any country.

For these interests, the Apple company pays tax to the American state, and if it were to sell its bonds, then it would pay tax again on the money earned. Apple bought bonds worth almost 42 billion dollars, and analysts believe that Apple is the company that received the most money in the form of interest from the US government.

Cisco collected 430 million dollars from 2012 until now, while Google collected 160 million dollars, the difference compared to Apple being huge. Considering the current information, Donald Trump will probably have new reasons to attack the Apple company for not repatriating the more than 200 billion dollars it has outside the US.

"The Treasury Department paid Apple at least $600 million and possibly much more over the past five years in the form of interest, a review of its regulatory filings shows. Apple, which has more than doubled those holdings of Treasuries to $42 billion since 2012, received the most in interest payments over that time, the data show."
