Facebook republishes old user posts

Facebook was affected by a rather strange bug due to which some old user posts were republished within the social network. Many users started to report yesterday that random posts from the past months were reappearing in their timeline as new posts, with new data.

Facebook admitted that it is a problem of the social network and did not explain how many people would be affected because of it. Despite this, Facebook announced that the problem is being investigated by engineers, so it will most likely be resolved in the next period, if it has not already been resolved.

Those from Facebook also had to explain to some users that their accounts were not hacked and that the posts were published erroneously. Many people began to criticize the social network and problems of this kind, this not being the first time that users wake up with posts republished months after the first publication.

The bug appeared shortly after Facebook activated the 2016 version of the Year In Review feature, which shows users the most important moments of the year just ending. Probably the algorithms on the basis of which this system works have started to bring back "to life" erroneously posts, so you don't have to fear that it's about some other problem.

"Did you notice old photos appearing on your Facebook timeline and News Feed this morning? Rest assured, you're not going nuts; a Facebook glitch appears to have resurfaced images that are months old.”
