Cortana also reaches devices that do not run Windows

Cortana is the intelligent personal assistant developed by Microsoft for the Windows operating system, the platform being offered exclusively to users of this system. Starting this fall, Microsoft has decided to extend the availability of Cortana to other third-party products, the first of its kind being prepared for launch by Harman Kardon, and you can see it in the video clip below.

This is the first demonstration of how Cortana can reach third-party devices, allowing developers and gadget manufacturers to offer its functionality outside of Windows. Those from Microsoft offer a series of software kits that are available in a beta version for now, they allow the implementation of Cortana in a variety of gadgets.

The courage of those from Microsoft is worthy of all praise, they have as much confidence as Google that the personal assistant can be desired by many people. Through this Microsoft initiative, manufacturers such as Harman Kardon can offer the functionality of an Amazon Echo or Google Home, without developing their own personal assistant.

Practically, Microsoft will generate more competition in the market of gadgets that can control homes, or it can help the assistant to arrive even in future cars. To be honest, I'm glad to see that Microsoft has the courage to give others access to Cortana, but don't think that Apple will ever do the same for Siri.
