Galaxy S8 – 3D Touch and lack of physical buttons

Galaxy S8 seems to come without physical buttons, multiple rumors related to the new Samsung product suggesting that it will finally borrow a popular function of the iPhone. More precisely, the Galaxy S8 will have a functionality similar to the 3D Touch implemented starting with the iPhone 6S, so theoretically we are all talking about pressure sensors and tactile feedback.

It is not clear yet how Samsung will replace the physical buttons of the Galaxy S8 and what functionality it will offer to compensate for their lack, but it is clear that the idea is being taken into account. Many Android terminals have virtual buttons instead of physical ones, but Samsung avoided making such a big change, but it seems that the Galaxy S8 is going to bring it to everyone.

There is a possibility that Samsung will replace the physical buttons of the Galaxy S8 with virtual ones that interpret pressure and provide feedback similar to a mechanical button. Apple already did this with the iPhone 7, but did not completely replace the physical button with a virtual one, but replaced the mechanical pressing part with one based on a vibrating motor and not the classic system.

Those from Samsung have not revealed in one way or another the plans regarding the changes for the physical buttons of the Galaxy S8, but they will do so during the Mobile World Congress 2017. With a system similar to that of the 3D Touch in the iPhone, the Galaxy S8 will offer users a completely different experience of controlling their terminals, something that many already expect.
