Trump: Tim Cook understood why he had to produce the iPhone in the USA

American President Donald Trump said in a recent interview that following discussions with Tim Cook, Apple's president understood why he had to produce the iPhone in the USA. The statement is not surprising and probably will not be confirmed by the president of the Apple company, but this is to be expected, to a certain extent.

Trump has been insisting for several months that Apple produce its iPhone terminals in the US, and until now Tim Cook has resisted these requests, helped by Apple's partners. It is hard to say if the fact that he understands why the iPhone should be produced in the USA will also have the effect of manufacturing smartphones in the country, considering the high costs arising from such a transition.

Donald Trump did not offer many details apart from this very brief statement, but Apple's partners recently announced that they are considering producing the iPhone in the US. Of course, nothing is 100% certain for now, but if Apple will have production costs as low as in China, or even marginally higher, then the decision to transfer production could be made.

Until now, Pegatron has stated that they are willing to move iPhone production to the US, but they probably rely on the fact that Apple will cover the increased costs. Trump doesn't really care what Apple loses, or what his partners lose from such a move, so he will continue to insist that it happen.

"Trump claimed Tim Cook has his "eyes open to it" and that Cook "really believes he loves this country and I think he'd like to do something major here."
