Facebook - change that destroys the application for iPhone

Facebook will enable the automatic playback of video clips with sound in the News Feed through an update to be released soon.

Facebook announced yesterday a change designed to destroy to a large extent the experience of using the application for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. More precisely, we are talking about the fact that now the video clips played in the Facebook News Feed will not only start automatically, but will also have the sound activated automatically when they start.

Facebook is making this change to convince users to view more video content in the app for our iDevices. The sound for the video clips visible in the Facebook News Feed will be activated automatically if we do not have the terminals set to mute, or if we have not disabled the sound for the video in Facebook beforehand.

Of course, in the next update of the application, those from Facebook will automatically activate the sounds for video clips and we will have to stop them manually again. Although if video clips appear in the Facebook application, they will start automatically, if at that moment the music from another application is playing, it will not be stopped by the Facebook one.

However, many users will use the Facebook application without realizing that scrolling through the News Feed could trigger the start of some videos that they may not want to play. The problem is even greater because the Facebook application will generate unnecessary internet traffic at the time of use if the video clips are played automatically.

Of course, those at Facebook care too little about users, traffic and other things like that, their desire is only to surpass Facebook as a video platform. In this idea, Facebook will do everything it can to shove videos down the throats of users who don't want to see them, regardless of whether it ruins the experience of the application.

"Well a few years ago when we started autoplay it was very new to people. Now they're pretty conscious. We're going to honor the sound settings on your phone. If sound is on your phone, we'll default to sound on rather than off. You can turn off the autoplay sound feature in settings."

In the Facebook application, there will be a new option that will allow you to turn off the sound for the video clips that will start in the News Feed, it will be available in the settings menu. Of course, people will have to look for it in the Facebook application only after realizing that various video clips start by themselves, but Facebook assumes all the criticism.
