iPhone 8 it was presented to us this morning as a terminal whose screen covers almost the entire front panel of the case, the Home button being completely replaced. Although the iPhone 8 will have a 5.8-inch screen, only 5.15 inches of it would display the iOS images, the rest being used as the area for a series of virtual buttons replacing the Home one.
Based on today's information, some believe that the iPhone 8 will have a resolution of 2800 x 1242 pixels on its entire 5.8-inch surface. Of this, only 2436×1125 pixels of the iPhone 8 screen will be dedicated to displaying applications and menus of the iOS 11 operating system, but compared to the iPhone 7 Plus we are talking about a substantial increase in resolution.
Considering that this iPhone 8 with a 5.8-inch screen would have the dimensions of an iPhone 7 with a 4.7-inch screen, the pixel density of the screen would increase. More precisely, instead of the standard 326 pixels per inch, we are talking about 521 pixels per inch for the iPhone 8 screen, which is extremely close to what Android terminals have.
iPhone 8 – higher resolution and pixel density
Increasing the resolution of the iPhone 8, the Apple company would use a 3x scale for scaling the graphic elements dedicated to Retina screens. At the moment, the Apple company uses a 2x scale, but for the iPhone 8 we are talking about a very big change based on the much higher resolution compared to the 1920 x 1080 pixels of the iPhone 7 Plus.
On a simple analysis of the number of pixels that will be displayed by the iPhone 8 screen, it will be double that of the iPhone 6, iPhone 6S and iPhone 7. The total resolution that the Apple company would offer for the iPhone screen 8 would be identical to that of the current MacBook Pro screens, this comparison being extremely interesting.
Increasing the resolution and diagonal of the iPhone 8 screen, the Apple company 
would allow the display of a larger amount of content than in the case of the iPhone 7, or even 7 Plus. The resolution will be even higher than that offered in iPad tablets, at least vertically, but horizontally the iPhone 8 will be at a disadvantage, as is normal for a smartphone compared to a tablet.
Having said that, the iPhone 8 could come with substantial increases in resolution and pixel density, but in the end it all depends on what Apple intends to do.
