Here are how many Nokia phones were sold in 2016

Nokia is one of the most famous mobile phone brands on the planet, although the Finnish company that created it hasn't produced a phone in years. Despite this, in 2016 35.3 million mobile phones were sold under the Nokia brand, all of them being models with standard functions, so we are not talking about smartphones.

In total, phones sold under the Nokia brand in 2016 represented 9% of total global sales, a percentage that places the brand in second place among the top manufacturers. Those from Samsung occupy the first position with 2 million units sold and a market share of 52.3%, the difference not being colossal between the two brands.

Microsoft sold all of these Nokia phone models during 2016, and the figure represents almost a third of the 90 million units sold in 2015. However, the brand is being relaunched by HMD Global, a Finnish company that bought the rights to use the Nokia brand to launch mobile phones.

The company has already announced several models of Nokia phones, including smartphones, confirming that the well-known Nokia 3310 will make a comeback. Meanwhile, we notice that Nokia is far from disappearing, sales are still significant, and those at HMD have every chance to successfully relaunch the brand in 2017 with the right products.
