The head of Samsung will be sent to court

Arrested this month by the authorities in South Korea, the vice president of Samsung, and head of the entire group, will be indicted by the judges. After the indictment, Jay Y. Lee will be sent to trial by the prosecutors, but not alone, but together with other managers of the company, who are now being investigated by the prosecutors.

Prosecutors in South Korea will indict Jay Y. Lee on bribery charges, with prosecutors proving to judges that he bribed close associates of the South Korean president for favors. Moreover, the prosecutors also discovered the fact that Jay Y. lee hid part of his money and assets in other countries, and now they will judge him for this.

Sending Jay Y. Lee to court will allow the Samsung boss to ask for his release, and the judges could offer it in exchange for a reasonable bail. Although normally a process of this kind can last up to 18 months in South Korea, considering the people involved, the law requires that the case be solved much faster.

In this idea, the process itself could last less than 1 year, and in the end the Samsung boss could be sentenced to a prison sentence, either with execution or with suspension. Jay Y. Lee would not be the first member of the family to be sentenced for violating the tax legislation, but unlike his predecessors, he would not have a president to pardon him.

"South Korea's special prosecutor plans to indict Jay Y. Lee, the de facto head of Samsung Group, on bribery charges along with four other executives, dealing a blow to the country's largest conglomerate as it prepares for a generational handover."
