Samsung Galaxy S8 – the first performance test

The Samsung Galaxy S8 has the performances revealed in a first Geekbench test, they are not great and superior in all respects to those of the iPhone 7.

Samsung Galaxy S8 appears today in a first performance test after last week I saw a similar test done for the performance of the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. The difference in the result obtained by Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus in the Geekbench performance test is minimal, so they will have the same performance after launch.

You can see in the image below that the Samsung Galaxy S8 has the code name SM-G950U, as we have seen in various other rumors in the past. In terms of hardware, the Samsung Galaxy S8 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip inside which is an octa-core processor and 4 GB of RAM, although only 3.3 GB are listed in the test.

Well, moving on to the result, we are talking about the same difference between the performances of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and those of the iPhone 7, the Apple terminal stands very well. More precisely, the performances of the iPhone 7 in front of the Samsung Galaxy S8 in the single-core test are almost double, but this should not surprise anyone, considering the way Apple operates.

Samsung Galaxy S8 – the first performance test

Regarding the multi-core test for the Samsung Galaxy S8, here the iPhone 7 is at a disadvantage, but the difference between the two terminals is only 10%. Basically, the performances of the Samsung Galaxy S8 are inferior and superior to those of the iPhone 7, depending on how we look at the results in the Geekbench benchmark, but in general the multi-core test matters the most.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 will be slightly better performing than the iPhone 7, but we are not talking about a colossal difference, unfortunately, but about a negligible increase in everyday life. Although in the performance tests the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be faster than the iPhone 7, it is hard to say if the same can be said about the usability tests.

In these, the iPhone 7 humiliated even the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, so the Samsung Galaxy S8 will have an extremely difficult mission to surpass it. Having said that, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be presented on March 29 by Samsung, will be available for pre-order from April 10 and should be released on April 21.
