Cydia Impactor update brings Cydia Extender

Cydia Impactor, the program that allows the installation of any kind of application in iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, was updated yesterday by saurik, its creator. The new version aims to solve some of the program's operating problems, but also to bring a new application called Cydia Extender, which is visible in iDevices.

Cydia Impactor 0.9.39 brings the solution for a problem that prevents the signing of certificates for Windows applications due to an SSL error. The update now allows applications to be signed for installation through Windows, so if you have this problem, you can download the new version and use it without problems.

Separately, the update also brings the Cydia Extender application, which is designed to automatically install any kind of applications directly from our iDevices. Moreover, Cydia Extender can automatically re-sign applications whose certificate expires in 7 days after installation, so including Yalu, which facilitates the use of jailbreak in iOS 10.

Although Cydia Extender has a good basic utility, unfortunately it requires the use of a paid account by the developer to work, something that saurik did not anticipate before the release. After the release of Cydia Extender, saurik realized how useless the application is, and that's because an account paid by the developer costs 100 dollars annually.

"Cydia Extender is an application that runs on iOS and registers to handle ".ipa" files, allowing you to browse in Safari directly to an IPA file and install it using the same mechanisms used by Cydia Impactor. It also can re-sign and reinstall itself. It (apparently) requires a developer account to install, due to the crazy indirect technique it uses for the installation process (a loopback VPN network extension). This limitation seriously was not noticed by me until a user reported it as an issue a few minutes after I had already released it. This makes this new application only valuable to developers."

That being said, you can download the latest version of Cydia Impactor from this page, but don't think that you can use Cydia Extender without an account paid by the developer.
