Google Maps allows you to follow your friends in real time

Google Maps announced during this day a very interesting function for users from all over the world, it allows sharing the location in a completely new way. More precisely, if we now share our location so that our friends can find us, we will be able to see in Google Maps where they are in relation to us to know how long it takes to get there.

The new functionality will be available in an update that will be released for the dedicated Google Maps application for iOS and Android today, or these days. After its installation, users will be able to access the side menu and choose the option ShareLocation, after which they will be able to choose the contacts with whom they can share the location and who will see it.

Contacts are taken from Google Accounts and users can send links with their location including through the Messages application, but these users will not be able to see the location in real time. After sharing the location with a contact who has Google Maps, in our application we will see a new icon that represents him, showing the person's position on the map.

From here on things become very simple, and the video clip below shows as clearly as possible how this new function of Google Maps works. The implementation of this change makes Google Maps much more useful on iOS and Android, so I will let you know when the new version of the application will be available in the AppStore.
