iOS 10.3.1 solves a critical iPhone and iPad problem

iOS 10.3.1 was launched last evening, the Apple company taking everyone by surprise with the update offered for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The list of changes for iOS 10.3.1 is very short, those from Cupertino only stating that they have solved the functioning problems of the iDevices and that they have improved the performance and the user experience.

Basically, iOS 10.3.1 seemed to be an intermediate update without much importance, but in the list of solved vulnerabilities we find the real reason for its appearance. According to the Apple company, iOS 10.3.1 solves a critical vulnerability in the operating system that allowed hackers to break into our iDevices using the Wi-Fi chip in them.

Apple claims that this vulnerability fixed in iOS 10.3.1 allowed hackers to run unsigned code on the Wi-Fi chip implemented in the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Based on this vulnerability, hackers could exploit our iDevices as long as they were within their Wi-Fi range, but iOS 10.3.1 solved everything and keeps us safe.

This vulnerability affects all iPhone 5 or newer terminals, all iPad 4 or newer tablets, and iPod Touch 6G. The closed vulnerability in iOS 10.3.1 was discovered by an employee of Google Project Zero, the Apple company enjoying the help of its rivals to make its operating system more secure.

"An attacker within range may be able to execute arbitrary code on the Wi-Fi chip. A stack buffer overflow was addressed through improved input validation."

You can install iOS 10.3.1 very simply using the Software Update system, or the iTunes program.
