Samsung Galaxy S8 vs iPhone 7 – the first endurance tests

The Samsung Galaxy S8 appears today in a first comparison with the iPhone 7 in terms of the resistance of the curved screen, but also of the glass case.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and iPhone 7 appear today in the first resistance tests that show us under what conditions we will still be able to use the products if an accident happens during use. The Samsung Galaxy S8 has a much larger screen than the iPhone 7, it covers more of the front panel and is curved towards the edges, so it is much more exposed to possible cracks in case it slips out of your hand.

The results of the two tests below are however contradictory, because in the first the Samsung Galaxy S8 turns out to be more fragile than the iPhone 7, while in the second both turn out to be equally fragile. In both cases, the Samsung Galaxy S8 screen cracks to a large extent when it comes into contact with the hard surface, which is very easy to guess, by the way.

Samsung Galaxy S8 vs iPhone 7 – the first endurance tests

In the first test, the iPhone 7 resists without problems after dropping the screen down onto a hard surface, and we have also seen this in other resistance tests, so it is not something specially designed to put the Samsung Galaxy S8 in a bad light. However, the result of the Samsung Galaxy S8 in the first test questions the durability of the screen, but probably everything depends on the way the device is dropped.

There is a possibility that if the Samsung Galaxy S8 is dropped with the screen down from certain angles, it may crack, or escape unharmed in the end after the accident. The same is also true for the iPhone 7, so we should not consider the Samsung Galaxy S8 as necessarily more fragile than the Apple product because this is not entirely true, except when it comes to the case.

Despite this, the Samsung Galaxy S8 case held up better than the screen in case of impact with a hard surface, but the iPhone 7 has a much tougher case. Having said that, what do you think about the results of these tests comparing the resistance of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and iPhone 7 terminals?
