WhatsApp is preparing a very interesting new function for users all over the world, it is called Live Location and is presented in the video clip below. As the name tells us, the new function of WhatsApp will give us the opportunity to share our location in real time with any of our friends on the social network.
According to the video clip, the Live Location function of WhatsApp will display a map where we can see our location, but also that of the friends who share it. The WhatsApp application also displays the last time the location was updated for each person, so we know how much time has passed since they were no longer there, if they left.
WhatsApp shows in the application that the location is done with a precision of approximately 10 meters, so theoretically the person could be displayed in one building, but actually be in another. Moreover, in the WhatsApp interface, the speed with which that contact moves is also visible, so we could figure out if the person in question is in a car or walking.
The Live Location function of WhatsApp is natively disabled by the company of Facebook, but it can be activated by users when they want. Those at Facebook implemented something similar in Facebook Messenger, so it was normal to see a similar function in WhatsApp to help people find each other more easily.
