Apple hired a NASA iPhone specialist

Apple recently hired a NASA specialist named Jeff Norris to help develop a special feature for the iPhone. More precisely, Norris is meant to work within the team that develops augmented reality functions for the future models of iPhone terminals that Apple will launch.

Norris was hired by Apple earlier this year and is one of the senior managers working on the augmented reality team. At NASA, Norris worked on the team that developed propulsion and control systems for the spacecraft that NASA used to explore outer space.

More precisely, he aimed to develop a control system that allowed guiding robots in space from the ground using virtual or augmented reality. This is the work that Norris was doing before leaving for Apple, because when he joined NASA he developed software designed to control from the ground the robots that explore the planet Mars.

This employment proves the fact that Apple has extremely serious intentions regarding augmented reality, and the president Tim Cook has said this repeatedly and repeatedly. It should come as no surprise to anyone that Apple is investing so much in augmented reality, hiring people who have produced extraordinary software.

"Apple Inc. has gone to space to find additional talent for its augmented reality efforts. The iPhone maker has hired Jeff Norris. Norris founded the Mission Operations Innovation Office of NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab, where he led efforts to create new ways to control spacecraft and robots in space with virtual and augmented reality."
