The Apple Store in Corte Madera, California, was robbed during the past days, the thieves managed to steal products worth 24.000 dollars from the Apple store. We are talking here about iPhone terminals, iPad tablets and Macs, 22 products being stolen in total, the price seems to be high, but for Apple it is insignificant.
A team of 5 thieves acted after closing the store to steal 17 iPhone terminals, three iPad tablets and 2 Macs, all exposed for use. All the thieves were between 20 and 25 years old, and their action will leave them disappointed when they realize that those products are already blocked by the Apple company and are completely useless.
When these display units disconnect from the Wi-Fi network of the store they belong to, they become completely useless, and can be unlocked. If thieves tried to replace them in an Apple store, the police would be immediately notified and they would be caught, so their robbery will most likely be left without generating any money.
There is a possibility that the units are sold for parts by thieves, but in this situation the amount obtained would be extremely small in relation to the real value of the products.
