Samsung follows Apple, develops guidance software for cars

Samsung is not far behind Apple or other competitors, and according to some information that appeared today, it wants to develop autonomous guidance software for cars. Although those from Apple have had such a project underway for a very long time, those from Samsung have only now publicly shown their interest in testing autonomously guided cars.

The South Korean authorities have approved Samsung's request to test self-driving cars on the country's roads. Those at Samsung use cars from other manufacturers for tests, but they are developing sensors and software with artificial intelligence to create an autonomous guidance system for cars.

Hyundai is the manufacturer chosen by Samsung to help in testing the software, the Koreans going to mount their equipment on these cars. The other day we saw how the Lexus cars chosen by Apple look like and equipped with sensors, cameras and radar devices designed to test the autonomous guidance system for vehicles.

That Samsung follows Apple in testing software for autonomous car guidance is not surprising, the Koreans following Apple in many ways. Having said that, the next battleground of the giants will be in the automotive sector, and here we are not only talking about autonomous guidance software for cars.
