Apple does not provide details on how it spends this money for research and development, but of course we are talking about the creation of new products. Apple employs a lot of engineers who work on a variety of projects and has a lot of costs associated with their production, the annual amounts invested exceeding 10 billion dollars.

Whether we are talking about a new iPhone, a new iPad tablet, a new Mac, or the guidance system for cars, Apple has many projects in development. To support all of them, a very large amount of money is needed, and those at Apple have large enough reserves to support any kind of investment to create great products.

Apple allocates approximately 5% of its quarterly receipts to research and development, but the amounts have never fallen below 5 billion dollars, regardless of the receipts. In this idea, Apple spends more and more every year in research and development, and things will continue at this pace.
