A few months ago, a variety of popular applications, available internationally in many cases, were criticized for revealing our data to hackers. We are talking about iPhone applications that contain various vulnerabilities that allow hackers to intercept their traffic and take extremely important information for us.
More precisely, we are talking about login data in banking applications, information regarding login data in the accounts of other services, plus many other similar problems. Some of the applications that do not transmit very important data were revealed a few months ago, but the banking ones with sensitive data, or the medical ones, remained secret and their owners were informed about the problems.
Although a few years ago a lot of people looked carefully at this problem, a good part of those who own the respective applications did not bother to solve their problems. This happens despite the fact that sometimes extremely important problems may arise, but also the fact that in most cases we are talking about companies that have sufficient resources to solve their problems.
Unfortunately, it seems that even banks are not too interested in ensuring the safety of customers who use their banking services directly from mobile terminals. Although it is not known if any banking application in Romania is affected, because no one has checked, you must be careful and do not use unknown Wi-Fi networks when accessing these applications.
"More than two-dozen popular apps for iPhones and iPads are still leaking sensitive information, such as login details for their services, despite having months to roll out a fix. However, the majority of the rest of the apps were not fixed, and still expose user credentials."
