Apple's smart speaker is in full testing

The smart speaker Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, based on Siri, which should be presented at the beginning of next month, is in full development process and has been tested since a few months ago. Last year, the first information appeared suggesting that Apple employees are testing this smart speaker in their own homes, and now it seems that the rumors are confirmed.

It is not known if this smart speaker from Apple will have a screen, as well Amazon Echo Show, but recently a vice president of Apple spoke about the benefits brought by such a product. Considering that Apple has been developing it since a few months ago, it is as clear as possible that the company's intentions vis-à-vis it are as serious as possible.

Google and Amazon have the most popular products of this kind, in the US it is estimated that there are approximately 17 million units in American homes. Amazon and Google would control about half of this market, but after Apple launches its own smart speaker, the market would grow to almost 35 million units, thanks to the popularity of the Cupertino company.

If it will not have a screen, Apple's smart speaker will be able to take voice commands and respond to them, controlling some smart devices in the house. Of course, everything depends on the wishes of those at Apple to conquer the smart speaker market easier, or harder, but of course there is enough room for Apple to generate sales of billions of dollars.

"Apple employees have been testing a device at home for several months, according to people familiar with the matter. While marketing chief Phil Schiller recently talked up the benefits of having a screen on a voice-activated device, it's not clear whether the Apple version will in fact have one."
