The colossal amount paid for a lunch with the president of Apple

A few weeks ago the president of the Apple company decided to donate his time for charitable purposes for a lunch and a tour of the new headquarters, Apple Park. An online auction was launched for people willing to meet the famous Apple president, but only those with very deep pockets could think that they could spend time with him.

This auction stopped recently, and the lunch with the president of Apple, Tim Cook, came to be worth 688.000 dollars, a record amount. More than 30 people bid for the opportunity to have lunch with Tim Cook, and someone decided to pay 688.000 dollars to have the honor of talking with the president of Apple and visiting Apple Park.

This auction has been held annually for several years now, but this year's amount surpassed the previous record, in 2013 someone paid $610.000 for this privilege. In general, only other presidents of companies pay these amounts to have the opportunity to talk with Tim Cook and possibly try to link collaborations with the most popular company on the planet.

The sum of 688.000 dollars collected after this auction will be donated by Tim Cook to the Robert F. Kennedy Foundation, a center that fights for the protection of human rights.
