iOS 11 permanently blocks access to GPS on the iPhone

iOS 11 finally brings an extremely useful function to the iPhone or iPad, the Apple company permanently blocking access to GPS data for applications that request it. The change is visible in the menu for Location Services, Location Services from the Privacy, Intimacy menu of iOS 11, the image below showing the 3 options available for each application.

I will not explain the options anymore because the texts in Romanian are very clear, but I will tell you that applications such as Uber or Waze did not have the option When using the application, While in use, but iOS 11 changes that. If applications of this kind required permanent access to the GPS data of the iPhone, or others for the iPad, we had the option to only offer it totally, or not at all, but iOS 11 allows us to force its use only during use.

In the case of Uber, it was demonstrated that the service was following users even when they were not using the application, so this new function of iOS 11 for GPS is an extremely welcome one. Apple imposes it on all applications, even if they have it integrated or not, so starting with iOS 11 we no longer have to accept what companies like Uber or Waze are shoving down our throats.

Apple has not officially announced this new change for iOS 11, but it has been discovered by various users and it is very unlikely that it will change. This is one of the best changes that iOS 11 brings to the iPhone and iPad, and I'm glad to see that Apple is finally thinking about us and the battery life of our terminals.
