iPhone 9 – LG will exclusively manufacture the batteries

iPhone 9 will be launched in 2018 or 2019, but it seems that Apple has already chosen the supplier of its future batteries, and the choice is not surprising. More precisely, we are talking about the LG company, which would supply all the batteries that the iPhone 9 would use, the change being an unexpected one since the current battery supplier, Amperex, had no problems meeting Apple's requirements.

iPhone 9 would be released in 2018 according to the source of this information, although it seems safer to launch in 2019, but those from LG Chemical are Apple's favorites. We are talking about a company that already collaborates with various smartphone manufacturers and that has not had problems with exploding or swelling batteries, so the choice to collaborate with this partner for the iPhone 9 is a logical one.

iPhone 9 will not benefit from Apple's strategy that involves the use of a larger number of suppliers for the components used in smartphones, LG being the only battery manufacturer. Those from LG made massive investments in equipment for the production of batteries for smartphones, and those from Apple were so impressed that they decided to offer exclusive production for the iPhone 9.

iPhone 9 – LG will exclusively manufacture the batteries

iPhone 9 would have a battery in the shape of the letter L, i.e. similar to the one presented in some rumors for iPhone 8 this year from various sources. This change in the shape of the iPhone 9 battery would allow Apple to substantially increase its capacity compared to the ones used at the moment, a novelty that many people expected this year from the iPhone 8.

"LG has invested hundreds of billions of Korean won for related facilities and plans to start mass production from early next year. The battery that LG Chem will supply to the iPhone 9 is an "L-shape" battery, which is bent to the right at the bottom. Apple has customized it to take advantage of the space on the bottom right of the iPhone that has evolved from the development of electronic component integration technology."

iPhone 9 is still very far from the official launch, so it remains to be seen if anything will change until the moment the terminal is launched. Until then, Apple could decide to make substantial changes to the components to be used in the iPhone 9, so there is always the possibility of seeing other surprises.
