iPhone – Apple Develops new OLED Screens

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), bought equipment designed to support the development process of new types of OLED screens for iPhone, a Korean company selling his machines. Sonic System is the company from which Apple bought equipment to manufacture 2.5G OLED screens, those from Cupertino having at least one laboratory in Taiwan where various employees deal with the development of this type of components.

Apple did not buy these production machines from Canon Kokki, the largest manufacturer of this type of equipment to manufacture OLED screens. Samsung bought almost the entire production of this Japanese company for the year 2017, but also half of it for the year 2018, so Apple had to turn to a third company to make sure it has everything it needs to develop OLED screens .

Apple initiated this project to develop OLED screens because it wants to reduce its dependence on Samsung regarding the manufacture of OLED screens. The Apple company will not be able to produce OLED screens on an industrial scale very soon, but if it acquires enough production machines of this kind and builds a factory, it will be able to turn itself into a producer of OLED screens.

It is not yet known how many machines of this kind Apple bought for the development of OLED screens, but if we are talking about more than one, then it has as many as LG. It was hard to believe that Apple would be able to produce OLED screens on its own at some point, but this evolution was logical, if we look at the fact that Apple wants to control the entire production process of the iPhone, and this will help it do exactly what he wants

"Apple has purchased chemical vapor deposition (CVD) machines from Korea-based Sunic System to build a 2.5G OLED panel line to develop related technology and products in Taiwan. Apple is eagerly developing its own OLED technology in order to reduce its reliance on Samsung Electronics for the supply of OLED panels."
