HomePod – The Most Powerful Smart Speaker

HomePod continues to have interesting revelations thanks to the firmware with the operating system on it Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), it was released publicly last Friday. I have already learned some of its secrets iPhone 8, others of the HomePod smart speaker, and now we learn some other important news for the new product with which the Apple company hopes to conquer a market that only becomes really interesting through its entry.

HomePod will have an A8 chip integrated by the Apple company, i.e. the same one that was implemented in the iPhone 6 terminal when it was launched in 2016 for customers. We are talking about, most likely, exactly the same component, but with a possibly reduced frequency for the processor, because the A8 chip in the HomePod also has 1 GB of RAM, a sign that Apple wants to offer top performance for the smart speaker.

HomePod with this A8 chip will be the best performing smart speaker available on the market in December, allowing the offering of advanced technologies for high quality sound. HomePod will also have a screen with a resolution of 340 x 272 pixels that will display images when the smart speaker listens to our commands, but also in various other situations to control other functions, including volume.

The HomePod wouldn't have run Siri as well without this A8 chip, and it wouldn't have been able to analyze rooms to play sound specific to each space it's in. These chips for iPhone and iPad have helped the Apple company a lot, being implemented in Apple TV, HomePod and even in Apple Watch in a modified version, and in the future it will certainly be possible to get more from them.
